Active Wear

Research has Shown that there are Many Benefits to Health and Wellbeing from Regular Exercise

Regular Exercise can Mean a Healthier HeartActive Wear

Inactivity in itself has been shown to increase the possibility of coronary heart disease.

Doctors are actively being asked to encourage patients suffering from depression to take more exercise as an alternative to medication

Weight loss and weight maintenance can also be achieved, in conjunction with the correct diet, by a regular balanced routine of exercise.

This can have the knock on effect of increasing confidence and wellbeing.  An increase in weight bearing exercises, such as running can help to reduce the likelihood of developing osteoporosis, which can affect men and women, by increasing bone density.

The correct exercise can target specific niggles or weaknesses in the body, such as poor digestion, and back pain, and can help in a range of medical conditions from diabetes to sleeplessness.

Once you have decided to embark on an exercise schedule, the next important step, after checking with your doctor to make sure exercise is safe for you specifically, but before beginning any routine, is to make sure you have the correct equipment in terms of clothing and footwear.

Certainly Incorrect Footwear for Your Specific Exercise could actually Increase the Chance of Injury

From running, to swimming, biking to basketball and back packing, the correct clothes for each sport is imperative

Running is one of the simplest forms of exercise to begin, but can be an exercise which can cause problems if the correct shoes are not worn. It is advisable to check out the different types of shoes available, and taking the trouble to ask advice before you buy.

Shoe types are available with normal or structured cushioning. Mizuno, Saucony, Asics or Nike are all well known trusted running shoe brands. Take the trouble to get the correct advice.

Clothing for running, perhaps t-shirt and shorts, will often need to be lightweight and not hinder movement. Cotton fabrics, and fabrics made of polyamide or polyester are worth looking into.

Basketball players may require similar clothing, but footwear would need to be rubber soled with ankle support, shock absorption and ventilation.

Outdoor activities may require layers of clothing, not only to keep warm, but to allow sweat to wick away from the skin.

Inner, middle and outer layers need to be combined in the correct way to make sure you are protected against the worst elements, but also to ensure that dehydration does not become a problem.  Goretex and REI Elements make a range of clothing which should be suitable for your needs.

Fit, comfort and size are all things that need to be considered before buying equipment, but the extra bit of effort put in to researching the correct equipment for your needs via your supplier, either retail store, or website such as Etnies Shoes will pay off in the long term.

Taking that first step may be all you'll need for a lifetime of fitness and good health.
