What was your college like?  How was the location?  How were the facilities?

It was fantastic. Penn is in the city. You could walk to great cultural resources, museums, restaurants, etc. The facilities were excellent, and there have been many new buildings and upgrades since I graduated as well. It seems like every time I go back there is a new building going up.

What were the Studies and Faculty Like ?

My coursework was challenging. My major was extremely interesting though; it involved the study of behavior, movement, physiology, etc. and how our brain and nervous system control those aspects.

he fact that I was “Pre-Med”, is what made the coursework more difficult than it needed to be. The faculty were very accessible and always willing to answer questions.

What are you doing now and how did your college degree help/hinder you with your current job as a personal trainer (or related field)?

I am a personal trainer and sports conditioning coach. My degree helps in two ways:

1) I have a good understanding of the physiology of movement, how people process information and learn, and what motivates people.

2) I went to a school that a lot of people in my current town would like to send their kids to. So a client is sometimes more likely to choose a “more educated” trainer than one who is not. However, you obviously don’t need to go to a top tier school to be “educated”.
