University of Vermont College Degree Review

Location
The
University of Vermont. Burlington, Vermont.
Degree
What was your college like?
How was the location? How were the facilities?
It was a great experience at The University of Vermont. I had an outstanding
college advisor that serves on the National Strength and Conditioning
Association Honor roll.
Dr. Declan Connolly, PhD ,CSCS, was my instructor for most of the exercise
courses including kinesiology, exercise physiology and test and measurements in
exercise science. I learn a wealth of valuable information at college that I use
now when I train clients.
The town of Burlington, Vermont has often been noted as one of the best small
towns in the United States. It is a very diverse town with a lot of shops,
restaurants and attractions, the workout facilities were plentiful and my
training was intense throughout my years at UVM.
What were the Studies and
Faculty Like ?
The courses were not easy, however extremely interesting. My studies made me
realize how amazing the body was during exercise
I had a lot of motivation to learn the challenging material and I did very
well with my studies. Vermont had a group of very qualified physical educators
and exercise professionals.
Most instructors were at the level of PhD and had years of experience in the
field. I could not have asked for more qualified instructors.
What are
you doing now? How did your college degree help/hinder you with your current
job as a personal trainer ?
I currently run my own fitness business (TatroFitness.com)
I focus on individualized, one-on-one fitness training. I focus on PRIVATE
sessions were training is maximized.
My college education has contributed a great deal to my ideas, opinions and
philosophies on health and fitness
Rating of
College Degree and Final Words
10. I could not have asked for a better educational
experience at college. Everything was specific and directed to my long term
goal of owning my own personal training business.

What
single piece of advice would you give a Future Personal Trainer entering your
Degree Program ?
I think it is important to take everyday seriously, keep your eyes and ears
open and not become complacent with your studies.
Everyday it is important to wake up and tell yourself you are going to learn new
material that will make you as a fitness professional better.
Exercise and health is a key component to living longer and healthier and it
is our jobs as trainers to be the best we can be.

College
Loans
Most likely you don't have your college
education paid for. Most people don't. Fortunately the government
provides federal student loans for students at most colleges.
College Loan Consolidation
If you used college loans to get your degree at the university you will have
to pay them back directly after graduation and most people seek a consolidation
loan with a low interest rate.
Phoenix Colleges
The University of Phoenix is the largest
online college to get your degree
solely online and there may be exercise science and kinesiology programs coming
soon. It is a good idea to check back frequently.
