Everyone wants to lose weight in the simplest and fastest way possible. I mean who really wants to go to the gym for hours a day, run for miles and miles, or starve themselves to hunger when there are other easier and healthier methods to shed those few extra pounds?
Sure, losing weight will still require you to get on board a regular exercise regimen, but moving your butt is only a small part of the weight loss equation. They say abs are made in the kitchen, and for good reason. Nutrition is going to play a pivotal role in helping you lose weight, but most importantly, keeping that weight at bay.
10 Nutrition Tips to Help You Lose Weight Naturally
Here are ten fantastic nutrition tips to help you lose weight naturally and keep those pounds off for good!
#1. Never Skip Breakfast
Do not ever skip breakfast as it the most important meal of the day. After 7-8 hours of a good night’s sleep, your body needs food. If you do not eat breakfast, you will not have energy for the rest of your day. As a result, you’ll be lethargic and gain weight! Ideal breakfast is eggs, oatmeal or even just a fruit smoothie made with yogurt.
#2. Never Skip a Meal
Never skip a meal, either! The misconception of the less you eat, the more you lose weight has long been debunked by science. Eating less puts you into starvation mode, which ultimately leads you to gain weight! The 3 main meals; breakfast, lunch, dinner are never to be skipped! In fact, you can add snacks in between each meal.
#3. Healthy Snacks
And of course, “snacks” does not mean chips, chocolate, or popcorn! A healthy snack can be a fruit or a vegetable. You can also drink a healthy smoothie or freshly pressed juice.
#4. Hydrate
Load up on H2O. We often forget to drink water, and instead, we drink processed juice. You should be drinking at least 8 cups of water a day or 3-4 liters. Not drinking enough water leads to metabolic slowdown and severe headaches. So, make a conscious effort to drink an adequate amount of water. You can add cucumber or mint to your water to make it taste different.
#5. Limit Your Sugar Intake
From packaged beverages and soda drinks to chocolate and candy, limit your sugar intake, but you do not necessarily need to cut it entirely. Instead, you can drink fresh juice and eat dark chocolate, or even have a smoothie., you can find different recipes that are delicious as well as healthy if you have a look at Easy Healthy Smoothie! They’re great at giving advice and guidance on a number of topics when it comes to losing weight naturally.
#6. Fast Intermittently
Fasting can have a great effect on your body. There are a few different ways to do intermittent fasting, from the 5:2 diet to the 16:8 method to the eat-stop-eat method. Generally, these methods make you eat fewer calories overall, without having to consciously restrict calories during the eating periods. This should lead to weight loss, as well as numerous other health benefits.
#7. Drink Green Tea
Drinking green tea is linked with many benefits, such as increased fat burning and weight loss. Green tea may increase energy expenditure by 4% and increase selective fat burning by up to 17%, especially harmful belly fat.
#8. Eat More Slowly
When you eat too fast, your body does not realize that it is full, so you keep on eating even more. Fast eaters are much more likely to become obese, compared to those who eat more slowly. Chewing more slowly may help you eat fewer calories and increase the production of hormones that are linked to weight loss.
#9. Curb Your Cravings
You know that caramel cake with chocolate frosting you’re dying to eat? And don’t you dare eat it! Eating healthy may be very difficult at first, especially that your mind tricks you into thinking you’re always hungry, even when you’re not. It’s important that you resist the temptations and curb your cravings.
#10. More Protein and Fiber
When it comes to weight loss, protein is the king of nutrients. A high-protein diet can boost metabolism by up to 80-100 calories per day and make you feel full and reduce your appetite. Even something as simple as eating a high-protein breakfast (like eggs) can have a powerful effect. In addition, foods that contain water-soluble fiber may be especially helpful, since this type of fiber can help increase the feeling of fullness.
Eat Healthy!
Nothing will make you lose weight more than eating healthy, and making a habit out of it. Instead of having a strict diet that you end up ruining at the earliest chance possible, try to have a healthy lifestyle. You don’t really have to play it by the book so you won’t get bored. It’s ok if you eat your favorite chocolate every once in a while, so you would not deprive yourself of anything and go into starvation mode. But again, resisting temptations is key to weight loss.
